about

Starship is a warm and kaleidoscopic trip for brave souls, those who are most able to see far away. The peacefulness of the English rock bands of the early 70s, like Soft Machine, undergoes a metamorphosis projecting itself into an interplanetary setting, in line with bands like Spacemen 3 or Mercury Rev. “The song speaks about the never-ending dream of mankind to sail off and explore new continents – or even new worlds. A journey so great that you are born again in a different universe; the complete destruction of all harmony, which is then restored in a far-away dimension. The epitaph of an entity which leaves everything behind in order to take that leap of faith towards the unknown“. The videoclip of Starship is directed by Marco Jeannin: “The new video is a great leap inside the spaceship called Tin Woodman. A spaceship inside which Dave The Wave faces his past, his present and, why not, even his future. Even at the same time. After passing a portal immersed in a wood without light, Dave The Wave – under the watchful eye of Simon Diamond and the robot Tin – lives an experience with surreal tones, distorted by the wide angle; it’s an inner journey in the style of Tin Woodman“.

lyrics

LYRIC

The wind is carrying me apart from this land.
Now the same hand which stopped my ship to this quay, took me off
All the words in their right places form few prayers for no god
All the sorrows that are taken by, my bones cannot be lost
Now the dawn gets my aim, would be really better to stay?

For each thing I lost, I had one of gold,
faults and fears had become ancient perfumes.
For every wink I gave to somebody I loved,
May the miles never end.

If my purpose would vanish into thin air, my blood will feed the trees
May the brass be heard beyond the seas, Sunday bells and lucid dreams
For every leave which has felt down, we'll overcome the next spring carpet
Numbers and books will trace the path for the bold ones
Now the dawn gets my aim, would be really better to stay?

Never end.
